Since you haven't been in for a little bit, I'm assuming that they got the alarms in so your busy moving and settling in.
Please tell me I'm correct.

Praying that everything is going smoothly.

Have you started to get where you can function yet?

Hello!! Sorry for the long absence, but everything was pretty chaotic. We moved in on the Friday night, and my sister arrived on the Saturday morning! For the 10 days she was here, all we did was work in the "garden", and I use that word loosely, as the "garden" consisted of building debris only!! Then, the day after she left I came down with bronchitis, and, 2 days after that, I woke up with a face the size of a soccer ball! Massive tooth abscess. I'm dying to tell you all the weird and wonderful (and odd!!) things that have happened, but all the meds I am on at the moment are making it hard for me to focus. (Said in the best Arnie voice...) - I'll be back soon!!!

Peni, it sounds like things have been very hectic and draining for you. I'm sorry you came down with bronchitis and now have a massive tooth abscess. I pray you get well soon. I hope you're going to get treatment for the abscess. I look forward to hearing more about all the weird and wonderful (and odd!!) things that have happened!!

Thanks Cathy! The bronchitis is hanging on, because I am a smoker, but it will go eventually. The abscess was, quite literally, a nightmare. I went to my dentist, but he said I needed a surgeon, so he called my ex-boss. He took one look at me, and told me that I needed the abscess draining, and the tooth removed. Because I had worked for him for so long, I knew that local anesthetic won't work when there is that much infection. I did ask if there was any other way, and he said yes - general anesthetic in hospital. I obviously didn't have the money for that, so I sat in his chair, and he pulled the tooth. I have not known pain like that in my life before!! And, just when I wished I was dying, he said "it's out, good riddance!". But then he started pushing on the swelling, to get the pus out, and then I started praying that he would die, LOL!! I honestly didn't recognize myself - I was screaming, kicking my legs, trying to get his hands off my face with my fingers, you name it!! Absolute hell on earth. And then it was over. From when it finished, to when I got home, was 45 minutes, and I cried that entire time - and I don't cry!! My body was shaking like a leaf, and it was all very bizarre!! I got on my bed, curled up in the fetal position, and was still there when Andrew got home, 7 hours later, LOL!

Pain will do that to you.

I'm really glad that you were able t get it taken care of. Sorry that you had to go through the torture. I pray that the pain is subsidizing.

How is your zoo settling into their new home?

You are so right Coll, pain reduces you to nothing! But, happily, the next day only the memory remained, not the pain.
As for my zoo, well, that is the strange part about our move. As I said, we moved in on the Friday, and my sister arrived on the Saturday. The dogs were confused, obviously, but not too bad, but the cats? Well, they were totally freaked out. My oldest, Minki, was okay - she started exploring straight away. But my youngest, Maggie, went straight under the dressing table in the guest room and didn't come out, for 3 days!! 3 Days of no water, no food, no ablutions, nothing!

Has Maggie settled down now? She must have been traumatized in her earlier life some way.
