You know what I learned when looking. Prayer works wonders. When I saw the tile I really wanted, like you was a lot more expensive. I went home and prayed about paying the extra cost. The next day I went back feeling at peace about my choice. They had gotten in a new line of tiles that was on introduction sale that had a tile that was even better for me at less than half the price. Yes it was still a bit pricy but I still love it 17 years later.

And that's the bottom line, isn't it Coll - you still love it 17 years later. I don't want to compromise, and regret it a few years down the line.

Well, no turning back now - today I accepted my builders cost estimate and asked them to start. I never thought this day would ever come! I'm terrified, and excited, lol!

Peni, I pray it all goes well. I can understand you being terrified and excited. I hope you have the builders cost estimate in writing. Otherwise they could keep changing it.

I'm actually really annoyed, and threatened to fire my builders today! I mean, really, I paid them yesterday, but I don't have a house yet!! :)

Seriously though, now that they have my money, they are busy sourcing the containers. In the meantime, I had the massive, and very destructive Blue Gum tree in the garden chopped down today. It has cost my dad so much money over the years, with the branches coming down onto the roof during the winter storms. For the last 5 years, as we got into winter, dad would say the same thing - "That tree must go!" But he never wanted to deal with the noise and the workers in his garden.

Now it's done, and, I have to say, it was quite an emotional moment going to the house this afternoon and the tree is no more.

Peni, I'm glad your house is being organised by the builders, although it's hard to wait through every stage. Well done for organising the Blue Gum tree being cut down. When you said you felt emotional afterwards, what were you feeling? Pleased with yourself, relieved that it's done or sad that it's gone?
