Finding your way to Papa

Post by Arus » Fri Mar 17, 2017 7:23 pm

A question has been asked - how do you find your way to an invisible Papa, in the midst of your pain?

Anyone?

Personally, my "go to" place to find Papa is in nature. When I really need him badly, and can't seem to find Him, I go to my local nature reserve. I walk and walk and walk, then I find a bench far away from any other people, and just sit. He always, always finds me.

Seek and you will find.
Going into nature and stopping to let God find you is a great way, sometimes not possible or practical.
For me I sometimes just have to stop and ask God to open my eyes and my heart to see Him in the beauty around me.

Stop and know that I am God.
It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me.

That's why I said "personally" :)

Sorry, didn't mean to come across as saying you were wrong. I go into mountains myself. Jesus pulled away from the crowds to go into nature so I would say your example is really good.

Peni and Doggie, I am with you...nature is where Papa God and I really connect. I am so blessed to be living an hour away from the Canadian Rockies. In the song, Our God Reigns, there is a line that begins...How lovely are the mountains of the feet of Him...which is taken from Isaiah 52:7. Seeing the beauty and majesty of these mountains portray God's awesomeness in a very tangible way.

Okay, we are all in agreement about nature. But then, what does a person do if they are not in a position to escape into nature?

As Jesus tells Mack in the book, He finds us. When we look for God He reveals himself to us. I think so often we feel we have to do the work and follow certain procedures, instead of just allowing God to be God.

People in prison connect with Papa. You just need to close yourself off from the noise and activity of the world to feel His presence.

Thank you both.
