Loved the Movie, but it cut off the book ending

I have read this book 3 times and absolutely loved it! I always thought it would make an amazing movie and when I heard it was coming out, I couldn't wait to see it and own it on Blu-Ray. The movie did a very good job of accurately depicting the bulk of the book. In some cases, coverage of some of the items (e.g. the forgiveness of his father) were a little brief, but I'm sure the movie would have been over 3 hours had there not been some editing.
I only have one issue with the movie, and it is a big one. The movie ended too soon! Where did the last page and 1/2 of this chapter and the "Afterwards" go? The actual finding of Mac's daughter's grave by following the markers Mac saw during his "Papa visit" to the Shack, and the ensuing involvement of law enforcement that lead to capture of the ladybug killer, gave a lot more credence to Mac's encounter with Papa at the Shack.
Aside from this, the movie was extremely well done and the book is even more amazing!

Hi mj! Nice to meet you. You thought it would make and amazing movie and I thought, "How can they possibly pull this off in movie form?" LOL... I agree with you that they did do an amazing job in film...I just couldn't imagine it.

I'm afraid that as with many movies, something is lost in the making into a movie from the book. This was also made by a mainstream Hollywood studio, so some areas of the book were bound to be omitted.

All in all I thought the movie was faithful to the Spirit (pardon the pun) of the book.
