Forgiveness

In this forum we talk about the themes of the Shack for followers of Jesus Christ. How do the themes of the book apply to our life with Papa God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit?

Ohhh sweet sweet Jewlia ... I don't think you understood what I meant by "knock them to their knees". I sure didn't mean to their knees in prayer. Where they need to be in prayer is in prison.

Forgiveness is all important. As you said Arus, without forgiving them you were stuck, the hatred consuming your heart. Forgiveness allowed it to be replaced by love.
So much of the problems in the world are because hatred and fear have taken root in the hearts and minds of so many.
My thoughts anyway

Thank you for your wonderful story - it brought tears to my eyes. I am so sorry you had to go through so much in your young life and I applaud you for being capable of forgiving. As you stated, it is most important for yourself to forgive the other person. I have been blessed with a peaceful life, surrounded by loving family and friends my whole life. It has been fairly easy for me to always know and accept deep in my heart the fact that God loves me. I am not at all sure I could be strong enough to forgive as you have or as Mack did in the book. I, too feel that God has a purpose for everything that happens, even though we humans cannot possibly know what that purpose is. I am so happy that you found your joy in Papa God.

Thank you Ella :) I'm glad you have had a peaceful life! You may not be strong enough on your own, but with God, you most definitely are!
