Peni, Mike was wondering if your figures were in Australian dollars ($AUS), but you have clarified that they are in SA Rands. It's great that the tenants are fixing up your dad's house! I'm glad they have good taste. I think before and after photos would be a good idea.

Thanks Cathy, I thought he meant Australian dollars, but was confused because he knows I'm in South Africa, lol. I wish I had thought to take before photo's, but I didn't!

Peni, it does sound like Mike was confused, LOL. It's a pity you didn't take before photos but you may have some old ones and maybe the tenants took some. You can take after photos anyway.

Sorry, brain fart. So what I was paying per month would convert to 29,635.24 Rand/month.

Correct! Prices here are absolutely ridiculous. But move just 5 km's away, and the rent falls to a quarter of the price. But then you deal with wind, 24/7/ 11 months of the year, and it's horrendous wind.

Peni, I gather that for your economy that is pretty high rent. Around here it would be grabbed up as soon as it hit the papers.
That the going price for a studio.

Praying that you get your new house real soon.

Thanks Coll. The plans are with the municipality, which will take about 3 weeks, then, hopefully the build will start!

So do I, lol, I am tired of being sent from place to place by the architect to look at tiles, cupboards, toilets, taps, etc, etc, etc! It is fun though, lol.

Peni, I can understand it being tiring but it does sound exciting to be able to choose the features you want. What kind of colour scheme are you going for?
