Similar, but not the same, lol. I have had hamsters too, but rats are much more affectionate. They know their names and come when you call them, and love playing with you. You can't have just one rat though, as they are very social creatures. They need to be part of a group, with 3 being the minimum.

Rats are a lot smarter and are trainable. I think they are also more affectionate.

Hmmmm...maybe I'll do some research on this. Thanks for the information.

You're welcome :)

I had a really hard day with dad today. He woke up this morning with no sight in his right eye. I took him to an optometrist, and she spent over an hour checking his eyes, but she couldn't find anything wrong. Dad was so, so down and depressed, and just kept saying that he wants to die now.

Peni, that sounds so stressful. I pray your Dad gets his sight back and that he feels more encouraged soon.

Thank you both. It's just so hard watching him go downhill like this.

Did the Ophthalmologist recommend that he see a NeuroOphthalmologist? If not, she/he should have.

Cathy, he's not really doing well. He is getting chest pains daily, is always tired and is basically just fed up.

Cyndi, no, she didn't. She did ask him to go for blood tests though, but they were closed when we got there.
