Skypilot:
I guess it's time to say hello to everybody. I am Skypilot becase I have a couple airplanes. But  a little over 11yrs ago I had nothing. I had just got outta jail..... again. I was living in a homeless shelter. I was a drunk living in the gutter. I went to AA on Feb 12, 2001. They seemed to be happy and at piece with themselves. I wanted what they had. I'm sure you have all heard of the twelve steps. Number 12 states "Having had a spirtual experience as a result of these steps" that was all I needed. I started doing the steps over and over. That is when I met Papa. Although I called (him) Father, at the time. As I came to believe, me and my life were wrapped in his arms. I was at home and at piece. I trusted Papa with everything. He took away my problems and I haven't had an real problems since then. My insight into my relationship with Papa was what I read in "The Shack" about a year later.
Much of my time has been spent alone.  I got down on my knees and talked to my father. "Father please send someone I can love". In a matter a couple of days Susan came into my life.  We were married later and have been together ever since. She had been raised with a God of fear. It took a long time for her to trust Papa but she got there and loves Papa like I do.
I want to tell you that I talk to Papa all the time. He vocally answers. The first time it happen I thought I had lost my mind. After talking to Him at night before bed. I said "I love you Father" and He answered "I love you too"
I have been looking for people like you for a long time. I finally got here

Judy:
His love does seem to be the important part of our relationship with Him, doesn't it?  How wonderful is that.

Bless you and Susan and welcome to the forum.  Make yourself at home and get to know everyone.

JimmyJ:
Welcome to the forum Skypilot and so glad you found AA. I know just where you're coming from,I was just one of those that pushed way past the limit with alcohol and drugs, but by God's Grace,Love, and Mercy,I'm still here and I give Him all the credit for that. So happy for you that you got off the elevator where you did. Keep coming back, there is much more to the forum!! Blessings...Jimmy

Morning Mist:
Hello Sky Pilot My name is Lakoda and I share this site with my sister.
I have been sober for 25 yrs thru AA and the great spirit. I had a triple bi-pass a few yrs ago and when I got out of the hospital I stopped smoking. You are so right about god talking to us. I feel every step I have taken to get here was a step with god. Susan was guided to you and  you to her. Bless both of you and may your paths be smooth and covered with love.
                                                        Your friends--Morning Mist & Lakoda
