Hi my name is Amber. I just finished reading "The Shack" and it touched me in so many ways. I have a little story I would love to share....
When I was about six years old, my (teen) babysitter was brutally murdered behind a Woolworth in Columbus, Ohio. Her name was Christi Mullins. I was too young to really understand what/why this happened, but it affected me deeply. To this day, her murder has not been solved. I am now an adult, and have found myself at different times through my life trying to understand. I have even used a Ouija board to find out who killed her. I know every one has different thoughts of a Ouija board, but I tried anyway. Actually, the love of my life died in a car accident, and would come through each time and not let anyone ask questions. He would, or someone saying they were him, would be the only one communicating. (We through the board away.) Anyway, I looked up information this past year about Christi's death on the internet and found an article in the Columbus Monthly. They decided to run the story again after ~30 some years. After reading this story, I reached out and called Mrs. Mullins, Christi's mother. I told her she didn't know me, but Christi was my babysitter. I wanted to let her know I was praying for her and how much Christi meant to me. She didn't know the story was republished, and said her case was never solved. I told her to pursue it once again because so many cold cases have been solved due to DNA and modern forensics. I felt Christi was with me as I talked with her mother- just as I feel she is flowing through me to write this post.
My question to the forum is: Should I pass this book forward to Mrs. Mullins? I would love her to find peace, but I don't want to hurt her. When I called she was so grateful, BUT would mailing this book be crossing the line?
Thank you for reading my thoughts. Say a prayer for Christi and her family. She forever lives in mine.
God Bless, Amber
