Thanks Tammy. I decided this morning to post the words on the "Praise Papa" thread, as they bless me so much, and bring praise so readily as a response. I pray you are doing well too. I'm sorry I haven't visited your thread recently, and I know you are busy on the farm, but you are always close in my heart and prayers. You are very precious and faithful to the Lord and to me and all the family here. xxx
Dear Pebbs, Thank you for always bringing love here too. You, like Jimmy, bless me so much by the way you hold on to God even when the physical and mental things throw up all sorts of troubles. Your courage and perseverance, and dependence on Him will bring great reward in due time, and I pray that you continue to bring honor and glory to Him.
I'm so blessed to have friends like you. Thank you too Peni, and all. Love, rusha.

Well, I've had an interesting morning, (it's a little after midday now, almost 1:00 PM in fact). I got up late, quite stuffed up with a cold, did my infrequent blood sugar test -- well controlled type II, fine -- then decided to tackle the hospital once again regarding follow-up to my clinic visit on 9th Nov, and pathology samples submitted 23rd Nov 2009.
I rang the Waiting List number I was given when I rang in March, and left a message on the answering machine as usual. Then I rang the Clinic itself, and the lady there said, "Go to your GP, ask her to ring the hospital and we will fax the pathology results to her."
Then I rang my doctor's surgery, explained to the receptionist, and she said she would ring the hospital. When I hung up, the phone rang and it was in answer to my message. The lady there said, "You're not on my waiting list. You're on a waiting list for Day Procedure. I'll transfer you but if you don't get through, this is the number to ring."
So I rang that number and was told again, "Yes, you're on our waiting list. You will get a letter regarding your appointment date/time. If not in August, it will definitely be in September."
So I rang the doctor's receptionist again to let her know. When I hung up, the phone rang again. It was the Day Procedure Unit saying, "We do have an appointment available next week -- Friday 6th August." I said that was convenient, and she said I'd receive a letter with instructions, and that they'd noted that I take medication for diabetes, so 1:00 PM should be suitable.
So, after a full twelve months of diarrhoea, I'm finally having an investigation. Thank You Papa! and please friends, pray for me that my cold will not cause problems; for steady, caring doctor's hands during the procedures, and steady nerves on my part, knowing Papa is with me. [I had a hernia at 11 months, appendicectomy at 16, ruptured ectopic pregnancy at 31; and have lots of adhesions, so any abdominal procedure is not without risk.]
Thank you for your love and prayers, friendship and blessings, rusha OXOXOXO

Hi Rusha,
I'm so glad you finally got the appointment for the procedure. I pray it will all go smoothly and that it will be very helpful in diagnosing what's wrong with you.
Love, Sal

Rusha, You can't be serious!! But, I know you are. You have been waiting for a procedure for almost a year now to diagnose diarrhea and abdominal pain?!? Unbelievable and inhumane. Are you having a colonoscopy? Our government just passed a bill for national health insurance where everyone will be covered but if this is an example of how it will work, I am against it. That is really ridiculous to have to wait that long to see a doctor. Ours doesn't go into effect for 4 more years and one party is already planning to try to undo the bill after our November elections. I am so sorry you have been waiting and suffering this long. I had no idea. You sure don't complain!! I am glad you will finally be seen and hopefully get the treatment you need. Bless you, friend!! Wanda

Rusha, I sure hope your cold is better today and that you are getting lots of rest and fluids and pampering by your nice husband. August 6th will be here soon and I know you are ready to find out what is wrong and praying that the treatment will restore good health. If it is a colonoscopy that you are having done, the procedure is painless and they sedate you so that you don't feel uncomfortable at all. The worst part of that is taking laxatives and having a liquid diet for a couple of days before the procedure. So get well soon and rested up! I hope you have a nice weekend. Blessings to you tonight. Wanda

Thanks Sal and Wanda for your prayers and blessings. Yes, I received the instruction letter on Friday, so am gradually doing the things I need to do before Thursday so I don't have lots to do then and can concentrate on the medical preparations/fasting etc. that's required. Wanda, there are three levels of government in Australia and each level is responsible for different services and funding -- not an easy matter to agree on these days. (You can find out more about the health services from this fact sheet.) http://www.dfat.gov.au/facts/healthcare.htmlBut yes, I have been waiting a long time – my condition evidently not regarded as high priority. I guess if it had worsened my GP may have been able to do something, but as it was I just had to wait my turn. Maybe I could have pestered the hospital, but I preferred to leave it to God’s timing; so Friday it is. My cold is not too bad; I don't get colds often, but when I do they usually take quite a while to shake off. I'd better go to bed now as it's late, but I haven't been on the forum for a few days as I often run out of energy before I get here. Love to all, rusha.
